Janis can NOT sing for her life, she sounds like a screeching weasel and she's ugly, all singers should be attractive since image matters. Not blown away at how good it was, but blown away and appalled by how bad it was. Once I put it in my CD player I was blown away.
but it wasn't. The album cover looked stupid, she looks like an old hippie man posing on a motorcycle. I was at the CD store looking to see if the new American Idol compilation CD was out yet.
I bought it anyway since it was pretty cheap and was willing to give it a shot. While you're at it skip Fleetwood Mac, Patsy Cline, Tori Amos, Blondie, Heart, Joni Mitchell and Patti Smith. :( The sales associate asked me if I needed help finding anything else.
I asked for a good CD by a female vocalist and he suggested Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits.
cd was in such poor condition it would not download to Itunes, I had to wash the cd to get something the color of cola off of it.
There may be other blues vocalist, but there will never be another Janis. Me And Bobby McGee7. I also recommend the DVD "Big Brother & The Holding Company with Janis Joplin DVD. This is an outstanding greatest hits cd showcasing Janis at her best, with 3 different bands. Thanks. Cry Baby5.
